I got up in the morning at 3 a.m. and it was Daylight in Alaska. I hit the lake at 4:20 a.m. and the water was choppy. I almost didn't put my kayak in, but I decided what the heck, I'm here, I might as well go! I didn't catch no fish until 9 o'clock in the morning, and that's when I landed this guy!
There was some construction workers working on a house that was on the lake. I paddled over to the house that they were working on, in my kayak, and I asked one of the workers if they would please take my picture. "I would like to release this fish." and the prick told me "N O!", so I had to paddle my kayak all the way across the lake, just to get to my truck. As I was paddling, I got on my cell phone and called my wife, and told her what had happened. I asked her if she would drive the four miles from where we live to the lake and take my picture with this fish and hopefully I could release it and it would be all right I had a cloth Stringer that I never put around his Gills.
I paddle real slow, about a mile and a half to wait. I've sat on the shore waiting for my wife, with the trout swimming in the water, on the cloth stringer. My wife made it there, took the pictures and I measured the fish. I didn't get a chance to weigh it and then, as you see, I released the fish, and it headed straight for the deeper water, unharmed...
